The Cursed Statue | Where It Hides | Full Quest Guide

The Cursed Statue

To get the quest, head to the Finterra Wall, where you can meet Carille, a friendly old researcher. It’s easier to find him at his house, just a few steps away, especially at night.

Carille’s house is just past the wall in a small grove, coming from the west

Talking to him, or reading his journal (on his desk), will reveal a riddle, and at the end of the conversation you’ll be given the “The Cursed Statue” quest.

The rhyme goes like this:

When grim lightning flashes in the eyes of the dreadful monument, pierce them and you shall reveal the perilous trial

So we’re talking about a statue or something similar related to the dead, as the word dreadful suggests. But where can you find this statue?

If you wait until morning, you’ll see Carille head toward the place where he does his research, where the dreadful monument is located – follow him!

Kamu Yuo Shrine

Once you reach the spot, you’ll notice it’s a sort of ancient graveyard, so there are quite a few dreadful monuments around. This is where the first three words of the rhyme come into play, mentioning a certain grim lightning. This means you need to come back here at night. Camp out until sunset, and you’ll see the eyes of one of the statues light up.

At this point, all that’s left is to apply the last part of the riddle: draw your bow and fire an arrow at the statue’s purple-lit eyes to reveal the perilous trial.
