Snowy Mountain Manual | How to Light Up the Darkness | Suma Sama Shrine

Hi everyone and welcome! In this article I’ll show you how to light up the darkness and reveal the shrine tied to the Snowy Mountain Manual.

To get the quest, simply read the manual found in a ruined wooden hut on Mount Morganit, located at the far east of the Gerudo Highlands.

Snowy Mountain Manual

The Snowy Mountain Manual is a collection of notes from someone who was trying to solve this same puzzle, only they had to abandon everything to rot there once their food supplies ran out.

The riddle reads:

When the pedestal on the snow-capped mountain shines, light up the darkness

The pedestal in question is located right on the mountainside south of the manual, and it will shine from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. This is the time window in which we can act and light up the darkness.

You might be thinking of using fire – if so, you’re on the wrong track. Have you noticed there are quite a few snowballs at the top of that mountain? Well, those balls are the key.

To reveal the shrine, you’ll need to take one of those balls, carry it to the opposite peak of the mountain, climbing up the slope, and let it roll down far enough for it to grow in size. Once it’s reached about Link’s height, lift it up and carry it to the edge of the mountain, so that it casts a shadow over the center of the pedestal. At that moment, the Suma Sama Shrine will be revealed!
